Use the Right-Click Menu to Copy a File Path


If you are a technical person and you use Windows, then it is very important for you to know about any files full path for troubleshooting an issue, editing batch scripts, etc..

It becomes very long procedure to know file’s location by right-clicking on the file then select properties and find location. But, do you know that you can find any file location path with just a right click?

Yes, it is.

Use the Right-Click Menu to Copy a File Path

You can not see Directly this option by right-clicking on the file.

But if instead you press and hold the Shift key before right-clicking, you’ll instead see this:

There is a similar list of command here but you will notice when you click on the file stay with shift then you’ll get a new option to Copy as Path. Instead of copying the file, this puts the file’s path in your clipboard, where you can then paste it wherever it’s needed.
